30-year-old Katherine Elizabeth Janvrin of Brown Summit Avenue in Statesville, 41-year-old Brandy Marie Jones of Randolph Road in Statesville, and 32-year-old Kevin Michael Duckworth of Allen Road in Harmony have all been arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers on felony drug charges. They were all charged with felony possession of crystal methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Janvrin was also charged with felony counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver crystal methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, along with one misdemeanor count of child abuse. In addition, Duckworth was served with an outstanding failure to appear warrant unrelated to the narcotics investigation.
Events leading to the arrests began on Friday (April 30) when Narcotics Investigators executed a narcotics search warrant at Janvrin’s residence. The investigation began when Investigators received information suggesting that Janvrin was distributing crystal meth from a residence in her west Statesville neighborhood.
Investigators established surveillance operations in the area. They were able to substantiate the information and identify the suspect’s residence. Investigators reportedly purchased crystal meth directly from Janvrin at the residence.
A search warrant was issued. In the home, investigators found seven individuals and a small baby. They also found crystal meth and other evidence consistent with the sale and distribution of meth. Due to the ages of the baby and other persons in the residence, Iredell County Social Services was called in to assist.
Janvrin, Jones, and Duckworth were all arrested without incident at the residence and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center. Janvrin was given a $20,000 secured bond. Jones’ bond was set at $4,500, secured, while Duckworth was held under a $53,000 secured bond. Janvrin will appear in District Court on May 19, June 7, and June 28. Jones has a District Court date coming up tomorrow (May 5). Duckworth is due in court on May 19.
