44-year-old April Dawn Atwood and 41-year-old Matthew Byron Wood, both of Taylorsville, along with 47-year-old Aaron Lee Horrocks of Granite Falls, have all been arrested in Alexander County on drug charges. Atwood and Wood were charged with maintaining a dwelling to sell a controlled substance, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of meth, simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver meth. Horrocks was charged with maintaining a dwelling to sell a controlled substance, trafficking in meth, simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrests are the result of an ongoing drug investigation that began around the first of this year, conducted by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and the Taylorsville Police Department. At about 1:20 p.m. on April 4, Sheriff’s Officers went to the residence where Wood and Atwood are staying to serve warrants for trafficking in meth. While at the residence, Officers found more controlled substances, which led to additional charges.

Atwood was jailed under a $200,000 secured bond, while Wood was given a $150,000 secured bond. Bond for Horrocks was set at $75,000, secured. All three suspects will make first appearances in District Court on April 8.
