The Corner Table in Newton Receives $2,000 Neighborhood Grant
A local nonprofit is getting a boost in its fight against hunger.
The Corner Table has received a $2,000 Neighborhood Grant from The Starbucks Foundation, recognizing its work to provide nutritious meals to individuals and families facing food insecurity across Catawba County.
The grant followed nominations from local Starbucks employees who have seen The Corner Table’s impact firsthand.
The funding will support several hunger-relief programs, including hot meals through the Community Kitchen, weekend food bags for children through the Backpack Program, and nutritious frozen meals for families and individuals in need.
“We are incredibly thankful to The Starbucks Foundation and our local Starbucks partners for believing in our mission,” said Summer Jenkins, executive director of The Corner Table. “This generous grant will help us continue providing meals and hope to our neighbors facing hunger.”
The Starbucks Foundation has awarded more than 19,000 Neighborhood Grants totaling over $30 million across North America since 2019.
For The Corner Table, the grant is more than financial support—it’s a reminder that local partnerships can make a difference for neighbors facing hunger.
