TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — A Miami man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop conducted by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a Sheriff’s Office news release, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 16 South in Taylorsville on the evening of June 15.

During the stop, deputies say they located a firearm, marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Steeve Emmanuel Jeancharles of Miami was arrested and charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, misdemeanor simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Jeancharles is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $1 million secured bond.

His first court appearance is scheduled for June 29.
