30-year-old Alex Lee Hampton of Taylorsville was arrested Thursday (March 10) on Catawba County warrants. Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies found Hampton and served a warrant charging him with failing to appear. Hampton has a long list of pending charges in Alexander County that include felony possession of a firearm by a felon, misdemeanor drug counts, and traffic offenses. He also has charges awaiting trial in Iredell County.

Hampton was initially placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under $4,000 secured bond. He has since been transferred to the Catawba County Detention Facility where he was being held as of earlier today (March 10) under that same bond amount. Alexander County District Court dates are scheduled for next Monday (March 13) and June 6. Catawba and Iredell County District Court dates are set for March 20.
