Taylorsville Man Arrested In Connection To Reported Shooting In South Carolina

20-year-old Joseph Conrad Fox of Taylorsville was arrested Friday (October 27) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged on a fugitive warrant from South Carolina and is charged in Alexander County with felony probation violation.

Fox is wanted in a case involving the alleged attempted murder of multiple people in Horry County South Carolina. Three people were shot at motorcross track in Loris, South Carolina on October 21. All three shooting victims survived their injuries. Fox is wanted by the Horry County Sheriff’s Office in connection to the incident.

South Carolina authorities notified the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office on Friday that Fox was considered the suspect in the shootings. He was taken into custody without incident Friday at a location in the Wittenburg Community. The Horry County Sheriff’s Office was expected to file attempted murder charges against Fox today (October 30).

Fox has previous pending charges in Alexander County for possession of a firearm by a felon, conspiracy to discharge a weapon into an occupied vehicle, felony conspiracy to sell and deliver schedule VI controlled substance. Fox is on probation as a result of a conviction in Alexander County in August of 2022 for felony conspiracy to discharge a firearm into an occupied vehicle. He received probation and a 30 month suspended sentence.

Fox remained in the Alexander County Detention Center as of earlier today under a total bond of $6,050,000 secured. A District Court appearance was scheduled today, Superior Court dates are scheduled for November 27 and January 2, 2024 in Alexander County.
