Taylorsville Driver Hits Utility Poles; Threatens Suicide

At about at about 1:30 this afternoon (January 24), a motorist hit at least two utility poles on Main Street in Taylorsville. When emergency crews arrived, the driver, who was holding a gun, threatened suicide. Main Street in Taylorsville was closed from 6th Street to Liledoun Road and both Taylorsville Elementary and Alexander Central High schools were briefly placed on a “Code-In” status.

The person involved has since been taken from the scene. Taylorsville Police Chief Michael Millsaps says the driver is OK, but no other details have been released.
