Suspects Charged With Having Stolen Vehicle, Resisting Police

19-year-old Jvonta James Dixon of Mooresville and 20-year-old Dwayne Pernell Allgood, Jr. of Huntersville were arrested Tuesday (March 28) by Mooresville Police Officers. According to a news release from the Mooresville Police Department, both suspects are charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. Allgood is additionally charged with misdemeanor stalking.

On Tuesday at approximately 9:25 a.m., Mooresville Police received a call of a suspicious person who made an unusual inquiry within a business at the Water Tower Plaza located on East Plaza Drive. The caller reported that the individual had since left the business but remained in the parking lot seated in a black four-door sedan with no license plate attached.

Upon arrival, an officer saw two people sitting in the vehicle identified by the caller. Upon approach of the vehicle, the responding Officer immediately noticed that both individuals were wearing black ski masks over their head and face. As the Officer continued his approach, both individuals simultaneously fled the vehicle on foot toward a nearby wooded area.

One suspect was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit, and additional responding officers established a perimeter and successfully utilized a police K9 and drone to track and apprehend the second suspect. The vehicle involved in this case had been reported stolen from a location in Huntersville.

The two suspects were jailed in the Iredell County Detention Center under $7,500 secured bond apiece. They remained in jail as of earlier today (March 30). Dixon has a District Court date April 13, Allgood has a District Court appearance scheduled for May 4.
