Suspects Charged With Drug Offenses Following Traffic Stop
45-year-old Trinity Timogene Johnson of Kings Mountain and 50-year-old Mandy Leigh Hampton of Aransas Pass, Texas, were arrested Tuesday (June 27) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. Both suspects are charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson is also charged on a felony fugitive warrant and Hampton is additionally charged with felony counts of possession of schedule I controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance.
On Tuesday, an Iredell County Sheriff’s Officer conducted a traffic stop on a silver Nissan Rogue. The officer spoke with the occupants of the vehicle and noticed that the driver was profusely sweating and was reportedly acting extremely nervous. She was identified as Mandy Leigh Hampton and the passenger was identified as Trinity Timogene Johnson.
Additional officers arrived at the scene. A K-9 officer gave a positive indication on the vehicle for the odor of a narcotic. Upon search of the vehicle, 16.46 grams of psychedelic mushrooms and three grams of meth were found. Hampton and Johnson were placed under arrest and charged.
The fugitive charge against Johnson is connected to a warrant from Louisiana for vehicle theft. He was incarcerated in the Iredell County Detention Center under $80,000 secured bond and remained in jail as of earlier today (June 30). Bond for Hampton was set at $8,000 secured, she was not listed as an inmate in Iredell County. They both have District Court dates July 18.
