Suspects Charged With Drug, Firearm Offenses Following Traffic Stop
22-year-old Jaterrian K’Tyrus Jenkins and 29-year-old Christian Dior Sifford, both of Hickory, were arrested Saturday (March 4) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. Jenkins is charged with two felony counts of trafficking in opium or heroin, single felony counts of possession of marijuana and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Sifford is charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon. He was also served with two outstanding orders for arrest.
According to a news release issued today (March 7), on Saturday, deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division stopped a vehicle for displaying a license plate that had been reported lost or stolen. The traffic stop occurred at the intersection of Hwy 127 South and Zion Church Road.
During a search of the vehicle deputies found and seized 11 grams of fentanyl, 121 grams of marijuana, two firearms, digital scales and a small amount of U.S. currency. The driver of the vehicle, Jenkins, was arrested and charged. Sifford, a passenger in the vehicle, who is a convicted felon, was arrested on the firearm count.

Jenkins received a $30,000 secured bond, Sifford’s bond was set at $5,500 secured. Neither suspect is listed as an inmate in Catawba County today. They both had first appearances in District Court Monday (March 6).
