Suspects Arrested On Felony Drug Charges Following Weekend Traffic Stop
35-year-old Wesley Jacob Jordan of Brookwood Road and 36-year-old Amber Dawn Harris of Wallace Road, both from Morganton, were arrested Saturday (April 1) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. Both suspects are charged with possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance. Jordan is also wanted on an order for arrest from Burke County and Harris has an order for arrest from Catawba County.
On Saturday, shortly before 6 p.m., officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety conducted a vehicle stop on Conley Road in Morganton after learning the occupants of the car had outstanding orders for arrest. Police reports say the driver of the vehicle, Jordan, has a suspended driver’s license. Officers placed Jordan and Harris under arrest.
A search of the suspect’s vehicle resulted in the reported discovery of a large quantity of narcotics, paraphernalia, and cash. Harris is charged in Catawba County with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Jordan is additionally charged in Burke County with counts including felony counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and uttering a forged instrument along with multiple counts of probation violation.

Jordan received a $25,500 secured bond, he is not listed as an inmate in Burke County. Harris was placed in the Burke County Jail under $55,000 secured bond, she remained in jail as of earlier today (April 3). Both suspects were scheduled to appear in District Court in Morganton today.
