Suspect Who Allegedly Attempted To Elude Traffic Checkpoint Charged With Drug Offenses

25-year-old Broderick O’Neal Bost was arrested Tuesday (February 27) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule I controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and maintaining a vehicle for the sale or use of a controlled substance.

Bost was also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed handgun. He was also cited for driving while license revoked. He was also served with an outstanding order for arrest still determined to be active.

On Tuesday, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were conducting a license checkpoint at the intersection of Newton Drive and Bristol Road, when a vehicle attempted to avoid the checkpoint. The vehicle was stopped, and an officer approached it and began speaking with the occupants. When the occupants were asked if there were any drugs or weapons in the vehicle, the driver, Broderick O’Neal Bost, said there was marijuana and a handgun.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, and police reportedly found 317.97 Grams of Marijuana, 24.48 Grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms, a loaded handgun, and drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $31,000 secured. Bost was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today (March 1). A District Court appearance is scheduled for March 18.
