STONY POINT, N.C. (WACB) – 39-year-old Johnny Lynn Chapman of Thunder Road in Stony Point, was taken into custody just after 5 a.m. Wednesday (August 12) by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. He’s charged with felony habitual domestic violence, crime of domestic violence and assault on a female.

According to our news partner WACB, Chapman has an extensive list of charges and convictions involving domestic issues in addition to convictions for larceny, larceny of a motor vehicle, obtaining property by false pretense, driving while license revoked and driving while impaired. He is also on pre-trial release for felony possession of methamphetamine.

The WACB report says Chapman is listed in a court document filed on Wednesday as “posing a threat to the public.” A mandatory 48-hour hold has been enforced prior to bond being set.
