Suspect In May Homicide Still Being Sought, Reward Offered For Information

Family members and friends of a Conover woman killed last month are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the woman’s husband, who has already been charged in the case.

48-year-old Donald Ray Hodges is charged with murder in connection to the death of his wife, 48-year-old Tinikia Hodges. Her body was found May 5 in her Conover home. As WHKY previously reported, shortly before 5 p.m. on that date, Conover Police responded to the 700 block of 2nd Street S.W. in Conover in reference to a deceased female inside a residence.

Family members had contacted police after they went to check on the victim when she failed to show up for work on May 5. Upon arrival, Officers found Ms. Hodges body in the residence. The victim appeared to have died as the result of a gunshot wound.

Donald Hodges is considered to be armed and dangerous according to Conover Police who are working with the U.S. Marshals Service in the search. Hodges is described as a black male, 6’6″, and was last seen driving a black Nissan Altima with N.C. license plate ALL-5945.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has also assisted Conover Police. Anyone with information on Hodges’ whereabouts can call the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-877-926-8332 or submit email tips via usmarshals.gov/tips.
