Suspect In Catawba County Murder Case Arrested, Person Of Interest Sought

54-year-old Tony Marshall Shook of Shook Road in Claremont was arrested Monday night (October 19) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with murder in connection to the homicide of 28-year-old Samuel Antonio Hernandez Loza, who was fatally shot early Monday morning.

At 3:00 a.m. Monday deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting at a residence on White Tail Circle in Conover. When officers arrived they discovered a man deceased inside the residence. The person, later identified as Samuel Antonio Hernandez Loza, appeared to have died after suffering at least one gunshot wound. Loza had been staying at the White Tail Circle residence in the weeks preceding his death.

The suspects fled the White Tail Circle residence prior to law enforcements arrival. In addition to Shook, Alisha Nicole Looney is considered a person of interest in this investigation and is being sought by Sheriff’s Office investigators for questioning. Anyone with information concerning Looney and/or this investigation is asked to contact the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office at 828-464-3112.
