Suspect Charged With Firearm Offenses

19-year-old Jalen Terrell Holloway of Mooresville was arrested last Thursday (August 24) By Troutman Police Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm and misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun. Holloway was also charged with no operators license and fictitious or altered title, registration card or tag.

Last Thursday at approximately 11:00 a.m. an officer with the Troutman Police Department conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle for a registration violation. The vehicle was stopped on South Main Street at Julian Place. The driver was identified as Jalen Terrell Holloway.

The officer could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and a probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a Glock 19 pistol with an extended magazine hidden under the driver’s seat.

Upon checking the weapon’s serial number through databases it was found to be reported stolen by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. Holloway was placed under arrest then transported to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office where he was interviewed by detectives with their Criminal Investigations Division.

Holloway was given a $5,000 secured bond. He was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today (August 29). A District Court date is September 13.
