Suspect Charged With Drug Offenses Following Sunday Traffic Stop

40-year-old Todd Alan Setzer of Park Avenue in Drexel was arrested Sunday (April 2) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver schedule II controlled substance.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday, officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety conducted a vehicle stop on Todd Alan Setzer. He was pulled over on Old N.C. 18 in Morganton. During the course of the investigation, police reports say it was discovered that Setzer was in possession of multiple baggies of illegal narcotics. Officers seized a total of 11.2 grams of meth from Setzer, one gram of fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.

Setzer was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail under $20,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (April 3). A District Court appearance was scheduled today in Morganton.
