46-year-old Richard Eugene Jordan of Zion Chapel Road in Hiddenite was arrested Wednesday (August 9) by Hickory Police Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of assault by strangulation and habitual misdemeanor assault. Jordan is also charged with misdemeanor counts of assault inflicting serious injury, assault and battery, and resisting a public officer. Jordan was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $15,000 bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (August 11). A District Court date is scheduled for August 31.
