Suspect Arrested On String Of Charges Following Break-in

25-year-old Landon Lee Meadows of Statesville was arrested Wednesday (May 22) by Troutman Police Officers. He’s charged with a string of offenses including felony counts of breaking & entering, larceny after breaking & entering, obtain property by false pretense, and forgery of an instrument.

On Wednesday, Troutman Police officers responded to a report of a breaking and entering in progress on West Thomas Street. Upon their arrival, they found that the door from the garage into the home had been forced open. Officers conducted a search of the residence and did not find the suspect inside. One of the department’s K9 teams responded and began conducting a track from the residence into a wooded area behind the home.

The track did not result in the location of the suspect but did lead to a campsite where items taken from the home were found along with information identifying the suspect as Landon Lee Meadows. Officers spoke with investigators from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and confirmed that Meadows was the suspect in several similar incidents in their jurisdiction and that they had outstanding warrants for Meadows.

It was also learned that the Statesville Police Department had outstanding warrants for Meadows. A short time after the incident officers responded to a report of a person matching Meadows’ description in the area of West Thomas Street and Wagner Street. Meadows was taken into custody without incident. Meadows was taken before a magistrate where all outstanding warrants were served and the suspect was jailed in the Iredell County Detention Center under $140,000 secured bond. A District Court date is scheduled for June 12.
