Suspect Arrested On Drug Charges Following Suspicious Vehicle Report

29-year-old Rocco Jordano Rampolla of Monroe was arrested by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. He was charged with felony counts of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon along with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rampolla was arrested by authorities in Alexander County last Saturday, April 27 following a report of a suspicious vehicle. He is a felon as a result of a conviction in Mecklenburg County in November, 2016, for possession with intent to sell schedule VI controlled substance. Following that conviction, Rampolla was given probation and a suspended sentence. It is the only conviction listed in North Carolina for the suspect.

Following Saturday’s arrest, Rampolla was incarcerated in the Alexander County Detention Center under $25,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (May 2). A District Court appearance is scheduled for May 20.
