26-year-old Noah Alexander Zolnoski of Weaverville, N.C. was arrested Saturday (January 27) by Mooresville Police Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and hit and run with injury. Zolnoski is also charged with reckless driving with wanton disregard.
On Saturday, the Mooresville Police Department received an automated license plate reader alert for a stolen motor vehicle. The vehicle, a gray Dodge truck, was seen by officers traveling west bound on East Plaza Drive (Highway 150) near Iredell Avenue. After verifying that the stolen vehicle entry, which was made by the Lincolnton Police Department, was still valid, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The driver of the Dodge truck refused to stop and continued west on Plaza Drive reaching speeds close to 60 miles per hour. Near the intersection of Plaza Drive and McLelland Avenue, the suspect’s truck crashed into two uninvolved vehicles. The vehicle continued on Plaza Drive and struck a third uninvolved vehicle, eventually becoming inoperable due to damage from the collisions.
The driver of the stolen vehicle, Zolnoski, was taken into custody without further incident. Zolnoski was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (January 30). A District Court appearance is scheduled for February 13.
