Sunday COVID-19 Update: New Case Count In Catawba County Drops To 12, 10 Infections Reported In Caldwell

12 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed today (October 25) by Catawba County Public Health, increasing the overall total to 4,228, with 62 deaths. Coronavirus hospitalizations  increased to 35, from 34 Saturday (October 24).

10 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Saturday in Caldwell County, raising the total to 2,368, with 30 deaths. 16 Caldwell County residents were hospitalized with the coronavirus.

The Burke County COVID-19 dashboard today  showed 2,933 cases of the coronavirus, with 54 deaths, and five hospitalizations. On Friday, 59 additional new COVID-19 cases were reported by Alexander County health officials. The total was listed at 788, with nine deaths. As of 5:00 p.m. on Friday, the Alexander County Health Department reported that 185 people are in quarantine with COVID-19 and 12 people were in the hospital.

Due to COVID-19 exposure, three county facilities remained temporarily closed to the public. The Alexander County Library’s main branch and Stony Point branch are currently closed, as well as the license plate agency on Main Avenue. The facilities have been deep cleaned and will reopen when it is safe for employees and citizens.
