Sunday COVID-19 Update: Deaths Reported In Catawba County, More Than 100 New Cases For Third Straight Day

Two COVID-19-related deaths were reported today (November 29) in Catawba County, increasing the overall total to 97. 121 new coronavirus cases were reported as well, raising the total to 7,072. There are 59 people hospitalized with COVID in Catawba County. It’s the third straight day that more than 100 new cases have been reported in Catawba County.

22 new coronavirus cases were reported in Caldwell County Saturday (November 28), increasing the total to 3,513, with 45 deaths. There were 25 Caldwell County residents hospitalized with COVID-19.

Two more COVID-19-related deaths have been confirmed in Alexander County. According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, there are now 17 virus-related fatalities.  Alexander County has recorded 1,602 cases since the start of the pandemic. No update had been issued by Burke County health officials since Friday (November 27).
