City of Newton Parks and Recreation Department invites residents to enjoy a summer filled with outdoor entertainment, featuring free Movies in the Park screenings and a special Dive-In Movie at the Newton Swimming Pool.

Families and friends are encouraged to gather at Southside Park (1775 Southwest Blvd.) for two evenings of free outdoor movies. Bring a blanket, lawn chair, and your favorite snacks for a relaxing night under the stars.

2026 Movies in the Park Schedule

• June 19 – Lilo & Stitch
• July 17 – Captain America: The First Avenger

Movies will begin at dusk, typically between 8 and 9 p.m., and admission is free.

The summer movie lineup also includes a special Dive-In Movie on July 4 at the Newton Swimming Pool (23 South Brady Ave.). Guests can celebrate Independence Day with a showing of Pirates of the Caribbean while enjoying the pool or relaxing poolside. The movie will begin at dusk.

• Children ages 5 and under: $1
• Children ages 6–17: $3
• Adults ages 18–64: $4
• Adults ages 65 and older: $2
