Students At Area High School Charged With Felony Drug Offenses

Two Lake Norman High School students face felony drug charges following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. On Friday, August 25, Iredell Sheriff’s Resource Officers at Lake Norman High School were made aware of a possible narcotics violation.

According to a news release, during the investigation, authorities viewed school security footage that showed two students exchanging a Ziploc bag and cash in the hallway. The students in question were found, and one juvenile was in possession of the cash and the other juvenile had possession of a Ziploc bag containing Psilocybin mushrooms. All of the items were seized.

One of the juveniles was charged with felony counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule I controlled substance and possession of schedule I controlled substance. The other student was charged with felony buying or receiving schedule I controlled substance. No additional details were released.
