44-year-old Randall Antonio Carr of Statesville was arrested last Thursday (February 8) by Statesville Police Officers. He’s charged with multiple offenses including five felony counts apiece of possession with intent to sell & deliver cocaine and sale & delivery of cocaine, single felony counts of trafficking, opium or heroin, possession of schedule II controlled substance, and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place to keep controlled substance. Carr is also charged with three felony counts of probation violation.
Following reports regarding the illegal drug activity at an address on Glade Street in Statesville, investigators and officers conducted surveillance on the residence. In addition to gathering intelligence, undercover purchases of crack cocaine were made. The residence was searched last Tuesday (February 6).
The search resulted in the reported seizure of illegal substances, including nearly 30 grams of cocaine, 105 dosage units of oxycodone, and eleven grams of marijuana. Additionally, officers confiscated a sum of U.S. currency and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect, identified as Carr, was apprehended at the scene. However, during the course of the investigation, Carr experienced a medical emergency and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Following medical evaluation, he was admitted for further observation. After being discharged from the hospital on February 8, Carr was taken into custody.
Following the arrest, Carr was jailed in the Iredell County Detention Center without bond. He remained in that facility as of earlier today (February 12) under $251,000 secured bond. Superior Court dates are set for April 29 & 30.
