25-year-old Mark Torres of Deerfield Estates Lane in Stony Point was arrested Monday (April 3) by Newton Police Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of cocaine, flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, and possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce. Torres is also charged with traffic counts including reckless driving with wanton disregard and no liability insurance.

Torres was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $5,000 bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled today (April 4).
