Stein Visits Charlotte For Business Openings Tied To 876 Jobs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WHKY) — Two financial services projects in Charlotte are expected to bring a combined 876 jobs to Mecklenburg County, according to the governor’s office.

Governor Josh Stein attended ribbon-cutting ceremonies Tuesday, September 29, for Daimler Truck Financial Services’ North American headquarters and Capital Group’s East Coast operations hub.

Daimler Truck Financial Services plans to invest nearly $8 million in its Ballantyne headquarters, with 276 jobs associated with the project.

The 60,000-square-foot office will consolidate operations from Michigan and Texas, including administration, human resources and financial functions.

The company provides financing, leasing and insurance options for commercial vehicle customers.

Capital Group’s project calls for 600 jobs, with an anticipated annual payroll impact of more than $116 million, according to the governor’s office.

The state projects that the investment will add more than $5 billion to North Carolina’s economy over 12 years.

Stein also attended the PhRMA State Advocacy National Meeting to discuss the state’s life sciences industry and workforce training.

His office said North Carolina’s life sciences industry supports more than 210,000 jobs and generates $82 billion in annual economic activity.
