STATESVILLE, N.C. (WHKY) — The City of Statesville is seeking qualifications from engineering and planning firms interested in providing professional services for future projects at Statesville Regional Airport.

According to the city, statements of qualifications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, August 21. The selected firms could assist with a variety of airport improvement projects, including engineering design, planning, construction administration, grant-related work and other projects as the airport continues to grow and modernize.

City officials say establishing a pool of qualified consultants allows Statesville to move more efficiently when state and federal aviation funding becomes available and when future airport improvement projects are approved.

Statesville Regional Airport serves corporate aviation, business travel, flight training and general aviation and plays an important role in supporting economic development throughout Iredell County.
