Statesville Police Expansion, Parking Deck Projects Continue on Schedule
Construction is moving forward on the Statesville Police Department Expansion and the adjacent parking garage, with city officials reporting steady progress on both projects. A construction fence screen has recently been installed around the site to improve the appearance of the work zone and enhance safety for the public.
At the new parking garage, striping has been completed on all levels except the lower level. Officials say the second elevator is expected to arrive this week, and the project remains on schedule for completion in July.

Work is also advancing on the Police Department Expansion. Exterior walls have been installed and sheathed, while crews continue interior wall framing. HVAC installation is ongoing, with roughly 60 to 65 percent of the ductwork now in place. Electrical crews are also preparing for rough-in work throughout the building.
Meanwhile, construction of the new Police Department Call Center is nearing completion. HVAC crews are installing heating and air conditioning units and finishing rough-in work, while overhead electrical rough-in is nearly complete. The call center is expected to be finished within the next one to two weeks.
