Tommy Scott of Statesville has won the first $100,000 top prize in the North Carolina Education Lottery’s new Money Bag game. Mr. Scott bought his $5 scratch-off ticket from the Shell store on the Wilkesboro Highway in Statesville.
He arrived at lottery headquarters Tuesday (January 2) to claim his prize. After required tax withholdings, Mr. Scott took home $71,501.
The Money Bag game debuted with four $100,000 top prizes. Three of those prizes remain to be claimed.
