Statesville Man Charged with Robbery, B&E, and Assault

39-year-old Erskine Allen Morrison of Millstone Drive in Statesville has been arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers on felony counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon inflicting serious injury, breaking & entering to terrorize or injure, and assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Morrison was arrested in connection with an incident on Saturday, May 11, when a Deputy responded to an address on Jennings Road regarding a reported break-in and assault. The caller said the suspect was no longer on the scene and had fled in a silver pickup truck.

The victim had a contusion and a hematoma from being struck by a blunt object. The victim told the Deputy that the suspect was Erskine Allen Morrison. Morrison reportedly made entry into the home and wielded a weapon while demanding money from the victim.

A warrant was issued for Morrison’s arrest. The Sheriff’s Warrant Squad conducted surveillance and was able to locate Morrison and take him into custody. Morrison was jailed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond. He’ll appear in District Court on June 3.

Morrison has a criminal history that includes the felony sale of heroin and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
