STATESVILLE, N.C. (WHKY) — The City of Statesville is inviting residents to take part in its Fall Trash Bash Saturday, September 26.

The cleanup is being held in conjunction with NCDOT’s Litter Sweep, the state’s twice-yearly roadside litter-removal initiative.

Volunteers should report to Cochran Street Recreation Center, 1001 Cochran Street. Check-in will be held from 9:30 until 10 a.m., and the cleanup will run from 10 a.m. until noon. A cookout for the cleanup crew is scheduled from noon until 1:30 p.m.

The city says advance registration is not required. Residents who did not register may simply show up and join the cleanup.

The event information was included in the City of Statesville’s weekly update published September 23.
