South Carolina Woman Arrested On Iredell County Drug Charges
30-year-old Chanikqua Eune Banks of Inman, South Carolina was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of trafficking amphetamine by possession and transport, possession of schedule II controlled substance, and maintaining a vehicle for the use of controlled substance. Banks is also charged with two misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and single misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of schedule II controlled substance.
On Monday (October 9) an Iredell County Sheriff’s Officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2017 Honda Accord for a traffic violation on Interstate 77 south at the 42 mile marker.
As the deputy was speaking with the driver of the vehicle, Chanikqua Eune Banks, she told him there was marijuana in the vehicle and handed him a bag that contained 12.4 grams.
Upon further investigation, 12 amphetamine pills and three oxycodone pills, which are a schedule II controlled substance, were found inside the vehicle. Banks was placed under arrest and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. Banks was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today (October 13). A District Court date is set for November 1.
