53-year-old Sherry Lynn Davis of Florence, South Carolina was arrested in Alexander County by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. She was arrested last Thursday (August 3) and charged with flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, assault on a government official, and failure to obey traffic officer.

Davis allegedly disregarded a road closure on N.C. Highway 127 last Thursday. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol had closed a portion of the highway due to an accident. Davis is reported to have driven through the closed portion of the roadway and led troopers on a chase that ended on Church Road.

Davis was arrested and taken to the Alexander County Detention Center. She was later released under a secured bond of $10,000. A District Court date is October 2. The Taylorsville Police Department assisted Highway Patrol.
