Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a smash and grab theft from a vehicle parked at a business in Denver, N.C.

Last Thursday, (February 2), The victim told officers he stopped at Lowe’s at 7144 N.C. 73 Highway to drop off a supply list for his construction business. After that he planned to go to the Bank of America on Cross Center Road to conduct business and withdraw $400 in cash.

He returned to Lowe’s where he parked his 2013 Dodge Ram under the covered parking area at the lumber entrance and went into the store. When he exited the store he discovered the passenger side window had been broken out and the $400 cash had been stolen.

Surveillance shows a gray vehicle possibly a 2017 to 2019 Honda SUV pull into parking area beside the truck. After a few minutes the back left door of the vehicle opened and you can see movement inside the truck. The suspect then closes the car door and accelerates from the scene.
