Single Digit New COVID-19 Cases In Back To Back Days In Catawba County, 38th Death Reported In Burke

Five new cases of COVID-19 were reported today (September 8) by Catawba County Public Health. It’s the second straight day that the number of new cases reported have been in the single digits, the first time that has happened since May. The overall total is now 2,735, with 48 deaths. There are 13 people hospitalized in Catawba County with the coronavirus, one more than Monday (September 7).

Burke County Public Health reports the 38th COVID-19-associated death in the county. The individual in their 60s was not hospitalized but did have underlying medical conditions. 17 new coronavirus cases have been reported today in Burke County, increasing the overall total to 2,124. There are nine people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Burke County.
