Single Day New COVID-19 Case Counts Decreasing In Catawba County: Monday Morning Update

Single day new COVID-19 case counts continue to be lower in recent days in Catawba County. There were 32 new cases reported Sunday (February 14) after 25 were reported Saturday (February 13). The overall total is now 16,499. Three coronavirus-associated deaths were reported over the weekend in Catawba County, increasing the tally to 269. There were 43 people hospitalized as of Sunday.

The most recent update issued by Caldwell County health officials, which was Saturday, showed a total of 8,332 cases of COVID-19 overall after 57 new cases were confirmed. There had been 127 virus-related deaths and 30 people were hospitalized. Burke County’s last update on Friday (February 12) showed 9,117 cases overall with 133 deaths. There were nine people hospitalized.

According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, there have been 3,756 COVID cases overall as of this morning (February 15). There have been 76 coronavirus-related deaths in Alexander County.
