Shoplifting Call Results In Drug Arrest In Burke County
31-year-old Brittainy Ann Lacour of East Meeting Street in Morganton was arrested Monday (September 18) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of controlled substance in prison or jail along with misdemeanor counts of simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lacour is charged in Caldwell County with driving while license revoked.
Lacour was arrested shortly before 3:30 p.m. Monday after a Public Safety Officer responded to an address on Morganton Heights Boulevard in Morganton for a shoplifting call. The incident report shows the theft of just under $350 in makeup from a business in the Morganton Heights shopping center. It was discovered that the suspect had warrants on file from Burke and Caldwell Counties.
During the investigation the officer found two grams of fentanyl and seized six dosage units of adderall. Lacour was taken to the Burke County Jail, her total bond amount was set at $18,000 secured. She was not listed as an inmate in Burke County as of earlier today (September 21). District Court dates were scheduled for today and next Monday (September 25) in Burke County and for October 16 in Caldwell County.
