A 40-year-old Harmony man is facing two felony charges following an investigation into suspected child sexual abuse material. The suspect is Jason Matthew Frank.

According to Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell, the Sheriff’s Office received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children on July 31st regarding suspected child sexual abuse material connected to an individual in Iredell County.

The investigation was conducted by Detective E. Lane with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit. Investigators obtained search warrants for social media accounts and electronic devices and recovered evidence indicating that Jason Matthew Frank of 351 West Memorial Highway in Harmony had possessed and distributed digital files containing child sexual abuse material online.

Frank was arrested September 11th and charged with two counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center and issued a 200-thousand-dollar secured bond.

Sheriff Campbell says Frank is currently on federal probation stemming from a previous conviction in New York. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible.
