NEWTON, N.C. (WHKY) – A 19-year-old Newton resident is facing felony sex offense charges following his arrest by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office.

Drew Alexander White, of Welch Drive in Newton, was arrested Friday (July 24). He is charged with one count of statutory rape of a child age 15-years-old or younger and one count of statutory sex offense with a child age 15-years-old or younger. White’s first appearance is scheduled for Monday (July 27) in Catawba County District Court.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the allegations.
