Search Warrant at Harmony Residence Leads to Three Drug Arrests

61-year-old Darlene Sherrill Campbell of Gaither Park Drive in Harmony, 65-year-old Lenzell Boddie, Jr. of West McNeely Avenue in Mooresville, and 56-year-old John Fitzgerald Smyre of Eagle Mills Road in Hamptonville have all been arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers.

All three suspects were charged with felony counts of possession of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the sale or use of a controlled substance. Campbell and Boddie each face felony counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana. Campbell was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, while Smyre was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

They were arrested on March 20, concluding a narcotics investigation that began when the Sheriff’s Office received complaints regarding possible drug activity at Campbell’s residence. Narcotics Investigators and Deputies conducted surveillance on the residence. Evidence was gathered that confirmed the complaints.

A search warrant was issued and executed at the residence, leading to the discovery of crack cocaine, marijuana, a 9mm semi-automatic handgun, various prescription pain medications, and drug paraphernalia consistent with the packaging and sale of illegal drugs.

Campbell, Boddie, and Smyre were taken into custody and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center. Campbell was given a $50.000 secured bond. Bond for Boddie was set at $35,000, secured, while Smyre’s bond was set at $5,000, secured. They are all scheduled to appear in District Court on April 10.
