48-year-old Jon Bradley Williams of Knob Mountain Drive in Connelly Springs was arrested Tuesday (February 21) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of schedule II controlled substance.
On January 18, 2023, Jon Bradley Williams was charged with possession of firearm by felon and received a $10,000 secured bond. Williams was able to post bond and was released from custody. This past Sunday (February 19), the Burke County Sheriff’s Office received a report of shots being fired on Williams’ property on Knob’s Landing in Connelly Springs.
Deputies responded and spoke to Williams who denied firing a weapon and no substantiating evidence was found. On Monday (February 20), the Burke County Sheriff’s Office received information that Williams was at a local business with a firearm that was visible in his rear pocket. Deputies responded but Williams left prior to their arrival.
On Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of North Carolina Probation and Parole, executed a search warrant at Williams’s address where they reportedly found and seized two shotguns, two handguns, 25 grams of methamphetamine, and a camper that had been reported stolen from Spartanburg, S.C.
Williams was arrested, charged, and released under $30,000 secured bond. A District Court date was scheduled Wednesday (February 22). The investigation is continuing, and findings will be turned over to the District Attorney’s Office for felony prosecution.
