Search Leads to Arrest of Lincolnton Man on Drug & Firearms Charges

57-year-old Blake Douglas Hopkins of Old Lake Road in Lincolnton was arrested by Lincoln County Narcotics Officers on March 19 on felony counts of possession of a stolen firearm, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance, and the sale & delivery of a schedule II controlled substance (four counts). He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Hopkins was arrested after Narcotics Investigators and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s SWAT team executed a search warrant at his residence. The search warrant was issued after the Sheriff’s Office received numerous complaints from neighbors regarding the residence and its owner, Blake Douglas Hopkins. Over the course of their investigation, Narcotics Officers were able to make purchases of methamphetamine and fentanyl from the residence. During the search, Officers seized meth, fentanyl, marijuana, and a stolen firearm, along with body armor and several other firearms.

Hopkins was taken to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center, but has since been released. He’ll appear in District Court on April 9.
