School Bus Runs Off Burke County Road, Strikes Tree

A school bus traveling in Burke County this morning (March 23) collided with a tree. Shortly after 6:30 a.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Johnson Bridge Road near Paige Street. A school bus was traveling north on Johnson Bridge Road, went off the right side of the road, and struck a tree.

There were five children and two adults on the bus at the time of the collision. The children and adults were evaluated by EMS, due to complaints of injury, but none were transported to the hospital. The school bus driver was cited for failure to maintain lane control.
