School Bus Involved In Thursday Morning Crash, Three Sustain Non Life-Threatening Injuries

A school bus was involved in a crash earlier today (November 2) in Burke County. At approximately 7:20 a.m. today, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to Old NC 10 at South Center Street. A school bus traveling west on Old NC 10, failed to yield the right of way, and was struck by a 2020 Toyota Corolla traveling north on South Center Street.

The bus was from East Burke High School. There were nineteen children on the bus at the time of the collision and three were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Corolla was not injured. The driver of the bus was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
