Catawba County Public Health Friday (August 14) reported two more COVID-19-associated deaths, increasing the total to 33 since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak. In addition, 32 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed, upping the count to 2,277 overall. There were 14 people hospitalized, the same total as Thursday (August 13).
Caldwell County learned of its 17th COVID-19-related death Friday. The patient, who was over the age of 75, was reported to have underlying health issues. Nine new coronavirus cases were confirmed Friday in Caldwell County, increasing the total to 1,265. There were 17 Caldwell County residents hospitalized, and at least 682 patients had recovered.
14 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Friday in Burke County, making the total 1,823 overall, with 30 deaths. There were eight people hospitalized in Burke County with the coronavirus, and at least 1,470 patients had recovered.
The Alexander County Health Department reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, increasing the overall total to 324, with two deaths. 38 people were in quarantine with the coronavirus, five people were in the hospital, and at least 279 patients had recovered.[Photo Courtesy Of discover.pbcgov.org]
