114 new cases of COVID-19 were reported today (November 28) by Catawba County Public Health, raising the overall total to 6,951, with 95 deaths. There are 60 people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Catawba County, the highest single-day total reported during the pandemic. It’s also the first time that more than 100 new cases have been reported in back-to-back days, 141 were reported Friday (November 27), a pandemic high.
47 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Friday in Caldwell County, increasing the total to 3,491, with 45 deaths. There were 25 people hospitalized. Alexander and Burke Counties did nothing release coronavirus updates today. Alexander had 1,537 cases, with 15 deaths and Burke health officials last reported 4,110 cases, with 67 deaths.
