Two COVID-19-associated deaths have been reported today (January 23) by Catawba County Public Health, increasing the total to 229. 65 new cases were reported today in Catawba County, lifting the total to 14,584. There were 107 people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Catawba County.
The Caldwell County Health Department confirmed seven COVID-19-related deaths Friday (January 22). Four patients were over the age of 75; two were between the ages of 65 and 74; and the other was between the ages of 50 and 64. Six patients were reported to have underlying health conditions, and three were hospitalized.
102 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Friday in Caldwell County, increasing the overall total to 7,710. There were 46 Caldwell County residents hospitalized with the virus.

One individual was in their 50s and the other was in their 80s, and both were hospitalized. 91 new cases of the virus were reported in Burke County Friday, increasing the total to 8,165. There were 28 people hospitalized.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services COVID-19 update today shows 54 virus-related deaths today in Alexander County, an increase of 12 from yesterday’s update. 34 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Alexander, raising the overall tally to 3,350.
