Rotary Club of Hickory Grants Ten Non-Profits Funds for Needed Services

The Rotary Club of Hickory welcomed ten non-profit organization leaders to its regular luncheon meeting at Lake Hickory Country Club on June 5th.

The purpose of the celebration was to provide funds to each of the ten agencies and to acknowledge their valuable services provided to the citizens of Catawba and surrounding counties. Each funded organization was required to develop a grant proposal describing a needed service or activity particularly related to Rotary’s core values of youth, education, and service. It is projected that over 14,000 children and youth will be served A total of $11,570.00 was donated to the ten non-profit organizations including:
Catawba County Hispanic Ministry
Catawba County Partnership for Children
Catawba Science Center
Family Care Center of Catawba County
Hart Square Foundation
Hickory Soup Kitchen
Patrick Beaver Learning Resource Center
Piedmont Council Boy Scouts of America
Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club
Western Piedmont Symphony

During the meeting, each agency’s executive director or development officer was recognized, thanked for their dedicated leadership, and each provided a brief presentation concerning the mission of the organization, a description of the project, the amount of funds requested, and the projected number of children and youth to be served.
